About Kraf-Tbird

Hi, my name is Teresa. I am a 50 someting mother of three, grandmother of one. I studied art in college and, now that my children are grown, I am using my art talents and skills to build my retirement.

I have a very ecclectic collection of things because I have a lot of artistic interests and it is one of my therapies. To be honest, if I didn't have my art, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. "What does it mean?" is a question I like to leave up to the veiwer. Art either speaks to you or it doesn't.

I have always had an interest in art. As a latchkey kid, I drew everyday after school. My grandmother taught me to crochet hanging kitchen towles, somewhere around the age of 10, so i've been crocheting off and on for over 40 years. I didn't take any art classes until the middle of my sophomore year in high school after getting approval from the art teacher. My scultpure the following year blew up in the kiln (probably why I don't work with clay today). I was planning to go to college for fashion design but then I realized, I am not a fashionista, I just love to draw. So, I went to Columbia College in Chicago (for a year and a half). Marriage and motherhood. And now many years later I am hoping to retire doing what I LOVE... making art.

This business started when I designed a bikini top that reminded me of my favorite one as a teenager. It was a store bought (knit) bikini. I don't knit, I crochet. I made several before I got it right. I strive for perfection, so if it isn't quality work, I WON'T SELL IT.

While I still make bikinis, my new fun thing is designing skull hoodies. My latest was my dad's old Air Force jacket that I added a skull hood and sleeves to. Follow me on TikTok or Facebook for my future creatioins.
